Day In The Life Of A Music Producer | My Daily Studio Routine
I have two Squire Telecasters , one Mexican Fender Tele, one Squire 40th anniversary and one American Fender strat. I love them all. I like all my Squires alot.
You guys have more choices than this old man. We didn't have no Squier Classic Vibe, Pro Tone, MIM, Strats as alternatives. We had cheap Japanese (back then they were cheap) guitars as alternatives to buying the REAL thing. It was all (the real thing) or nothing! All the best and enjoy that CV Strat!
I like the Starcaster better I think it has a better sound than my Fender Mexican Strat and my Infinity strat
I completely understand you when it comes to OCD with differently colored woods haha. I have a Schecter C-1 SLS Elite that is a great guitar BUT the color of the woods on the back doesn't match at all and it was bothering me soooo much. Oh well, gotta pay a little bit more attention when buying the next guitar.
Can u teach it for a noob
Bought my first chinese Squier CV 50s Strat a couple of years ago. Still in love with it, fantastic guitar. The single ply pickguard is historically correct; no complaints about that. Even the electronic parts seem to be solid and durable which is not the case on two CV Strats I bought later. Be prepared to swap pots and the pu switch; but even with that investment it´s a pretty good deal.
I bought the 50s Classic Vibe Strat a while back to modify. I replaced the bridge with a VegaTrem and the tuners with Gotoh Vintage Staggered set and removed the string tree. The tuning stability is great even with dive bombs and upward movement. The other reason I got it is the Fiesta Red and the fact it weighs only 6.5 pounds. I had a Player Strat a couple of years ago but I didn’t bond with it. Nothing wrong with it but I moved on and sold it. The pickups on the Squire are good so I’ll wait before deciding to swap them and the pots out.
How are the pickups on the Squiers? One difference I've found when trying out Squiers or such brands in stores compared to the more expensive versions, is that the cheaper ones often are not set up as well as the more expensive guitars. Which gives a bad impression.
the pickups are pretty okay! Check out the attached video and start at 1:25 and you'll hear a few examples. The TL;DR is that the neck and middle are pretty cool and does the job, the bridge is VERY mid (but idk if I just hate bridge pick ups). I'd suggest swapping the pick ups as an upgrade and after that it still plays amazing and would sound 10000% better
@@BABYBOYBLUE Yeah, it sounds good! Maybe I should get a Squier for my next guitar, would be nice to not go completely broke for once!
It sounded fucking Anemic! Pale and Lame. Throw that shit in the window!
I have the Squier Classic Vibe 60s telecaster, and I upgraded the pickups. I am 100% confident that no one, absolutely no one would be able to tell the difference between my Squier and a Fender that's twice the price. Plays like a dream, feels amazing and it doesnt sound or look cheap at all. Best guitar I own
if they had a squier classic vibe tele at the shop i would have probably picked that up. lowkey wanted to trade my fender for a better tele, even if it was a squier
You could always change the bridge pickup to a Seymour Duncan Twang Banger which is a strat pickup that sounds like tele or a Dimarzio Sds-1 which sound like a p90. Btw the video was pretty entertaining & thats a sweet looking strat
thanks dude! That’s great info for when i’d wanna change the pick ups. will look into it!
Does this Squire have the annoying, glossy sticky neck?
unfortunately yes. hated that about my fender thinline so i sanded it. might do it for this strat too
bro you can just lower the bridge pickup a bit, or raise the neck, or a bit of both
will try that out! Maybe make a vid about it 👀
The classic vibe series are still great guitars but theyve really cut back on them while constantly going up in price. QC is all over the place, hardware is feeling noticeably cheaper, lacquer cracks seem to be the norm... i got my CV 50s strat and tele in 2017 and 18 i believe, both for just barely over 300€, and that was when they still had brass saddles on the tele and all that good stuff.
interesting!! I’d love to compare the 2017 model and this one to see how different they are.
Makes me wanna get one now
i want your tele 👀
Changing my opinion on the squier already 👀
SAMEEE
yall i swear im having a Mandela effect moment 😭 could have sworn it was SQUIRE for my entire life. needless to say, title edited.
At least spell it properly.
SQUIER :| not squire
I have the exact same guitar that you're using in the same color too! I absolutely love it! And the bridge is something I want to rip out as well! Gives me a headache whenever I hear it.
i wonder if i were to swap pick ups if id still hate it LOL. i could very much just hate a bridge pick up sound
Have owned very nice Fender Strats and copies, including a early 90s Clapton signature USA model and a late 1970s Japanese Tokai. The Classic Vibe series, especially the early ones built around 2009-2012 are incredible. I have a 2009, 60's Classic Vibe that has a real Rosewood fretboard and Alder body. I did swap out the pickups and other electronics, but it ships with Alnico V pickups that are very nice... The reason they don't get respect is because they are built by foreign factories not owned by Fender. Fender provides the spec sheet. I think Cort in Indonesia is the current builder of the Classic Vibe line..... The ones coming out of Mexico are coming from a Fender owned and operated factory, so it is different, but who's to say Fender in Mexico is building a better guitar than Cort in Indonesia?
very interesting! i’m sure people have their reservations for whatever reason regarding where it’s built. But imo, doesn’t matter where it’s built, if it’s good, it’s good! thanks for sharing 🤘
keep up the good work man👍👍👍👍 i ordered one right away
thats AWESOME!! Love that. Hope you like it!
i inherited my aunt's squier strat when she passed away. beautiful tone and easy to play and lots of sentimental value
😭 thats so beautiful dude
Its right there on the headstock not Squire but SQUIER.
😂
i’m so blind 😭🤦♂️
imma get one
do it!!
My Squier Contemporary Jaguar HH ST feels better, weighs less, and plays better than my 2018 FENDER Blacktop Jaguar. The frets on the Fender were poorly cut. Pau Ferro doesn't matter if I don't want to play it. I don't think I'll ever buy a guitar over 600 dollars ever again. It's just not worth it to me with CNC machines making the quality differences so minimal.
wow!! I really do think the budget guitar world is changing a ton. Especially with the direct "off brand" companies like squire. idk what it is! But im here for it 🔥
OKAY SO, after a lot of thinking, DADGAD is def more of a pop punk tuning than it is an emo tuning. I'd change the title, but "try this emo tuning" is caked into this video LOL. My B
very convincing to get a squire strat over a mim fender strat
the mim strat was what I was aiming to get! But I was really in a pinch to get a strat and this got me. Eventually id prob end up getting a MIM!
Where did you find the screws for the rack mount compressor?
I had rack screws from my older server rack, but sweetwater has a ton of options for rack screws

@@BABYBOYBLUE Id love to!!
Amazing bro
thanks dude!!!
would love to know what budget mic (around but pref under 50) you would recommend with prime day happening rn
amazing question that warrants a video, might make it very soon, but a TL;DR In this price point, you gotta ask if you want a USB mic or a XLR mic in which you’d need an interface. I’d also try to stay away from unknown audio brands and look for some reputable brands. for condenser mics (USB): (funny enough) Blue Snowball $35 (XLR) Mackie EM-91C For dynamics, the brother of the mic i spoke about in this video the PGA57, goes for $45. (ofc) don’t expect AMAZING quality. If you can, save up bc even $100 can get you an audio technica 2020. but if you gotta do what you gotta do, DO IT 🫶🏼
Thanks for sharing bro 💪
appreciate you dude!
Nice hand moves
i truly cant help it LMAOO
I have experience with the 57 and it’s night and day compared to my $200 condenser. I guess my question is if it’s the price or the fact that it’s a condenser
(assuming you’re in favor of the condenser) it’s most likely the fact that condensers tend to capture a lot more detail, both dynamically and towards the mid/high frequencies depending on the mic!
Hi, what are dubs
dubs (or doubles) are when you sing the lead melody multiple times, sometimes panning them, all to get them sounding thick and (sometimes) wide!
Cant you eq an sm57/58 to sound extremely close to the 7b?
if you hear the difference between the two at 5:32, they’re already REALLY close sonically. You can probably EQ them to get it close, but i’d say that the shockmounting in the 7B and the slightly more consistent dynamics is what makes the difference
That drake bit aged horribly 💀 great video though 👍
HAHAH im regretting every second of it 😭

great patchbay video dude!
@BABYBOYBLUE Hey, I appreciate that man! It's such a rare patchbay thanks for checking it out! Love your channel. I subbed a while back:).
Yup, and that’s only ONE song… imagine placing dozens, or more. And this is only royalties, doesn’t even include upfront payments (which is often thousands)

definitely worth that price
